Roots = Wings.

Over the last five days, I've contemplated a million times how to write this blog.
I suppose the reason I've been hesitant is for seeming like I'm going against God's will.
I've been worried about what people may say as they read it,
exasperatingly exclaiming how I said one thing, and now I'm saying another.

Fear of being misunderstood.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned as a leader in Kenya was that it's not about being understood;
though I believe as humans, we inherently long for it.
I don't have to be understood.
And my decision most likely won't be.

So.

I'm moving to Thailand.

As I said, I'm not asking to be understood,
therefore I don't really feel the need to explain.

BUT, I will say that this is something the Lord has been speaking to me about for a long time.
I have been waiting for over a year to return to Phuket.
And five days ago, I was offered my dream ministry in the country my heart so longs for.

Through my willingness to take the steps He asked me to take,
God has honoured my obedience by allowing the desires of my heart to come to fruition.

He is SO FAITHFUL.

So, as of January 2014,
I will be considered long-term staff at SHE (Self Help and Empowerment) Thailand.
My ministry will consist of taking photos, writing blogs, telling stories of God's faithfulness.
I will also be able to minister on Bangla Road and once again be part of the amazing freedom God is bringing there.

I honestly could not be more excited about this opportunity, and I hope you will be excited with me!
Pray for my heart as I begin to prepare for what I'm sure will be the craziest adventure yet.

Inhale.
Exhale.

Here we go again.

Obedience: Guat A Beautiful Thing!

There is something so beautiful about being obedient.

The truth is,
I didn't want to come home.
And some days, I don't want to be here.
A lot of this culture doesn't make sense to me anymore, and I'm uncomfortable a lot of the time.

But God has honoured my obedience in such incredible ways,
I can't even begin to describe the favour that I am walking in.

Even though home is not always where I want to be,
Jesus knows me and He knows how I am not one to be idle.

That's why He's given me incredible opportunities to look forward to.

I have an epic road trip across Canada coming up in a mere 13 days.

And in August, I have the opportunity to go to Guatemala for two weeks.

I know what you are thinking.
I'm supposed to be home, right?
Why go to Guatemala if I'm supposed to be home?

Well,
God asked me to come home to set roots.
So I have been doing that.
And part of setting roots means being involved in the things my church is doing.
My church is passionate about seeing revival in the nations and ironically,
so am I.

I've never gone on a missions trip with my church before,
and I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love and do it with my church family.

So, as always, I want YOU to have the opportunity to be involved in what God is doing in the nations.

For me to be able to go and be a part of bringing the kingdom in Guatemala at the end of August,
I am in need $800 by June 1st,
and another $500 by August 1st.

That means if 10 people gave $80,
or 20 people gave $40,
or 40 people gave $20,
I would meet my first deadline.

I know there are many people reading this who long to sow into the nations,
and this is your chance.

This is your chance to be a part of what God is doing in Guatemala,
even if you can't be on that plane.

I would be incredibly honoured if you would partner with me in prayer,
and if you feel led to partner with me financially,
you can do so through the Paypal donate button to the right.

If you don't want to donate online, you can give directly to me.
I am able to take cash, cheque, debit and credit through amazing the technology these days.

Are you ready to change the world together?
